M.Ed. Concentration in Literacy and Language, B.S. Childhood Education and Childhood Special Education

Hi, I’m Erin! I’m an educator, special education resource, advocate, and coach of over ten years who works with families to create and provide researched-based, multisensory, and practical solutions to support the various big feelings and challenges of childhood.

I began my career in education as an elementary inclusive teacher in a public setting. After six impactful years of experience and tenure at my first placement, I moved to New York to pursue a career in a more concentrated setting at a special needs independent school, where I taught and worked in leadership until giving birth to my daughter.

I began Practical Solutions with the desire to deepen my passion for supporting all children and their families with the multitude of learning styles, differences, and behavioral needs that can occur throughout early childhood and elementary development. My diverse training, varied experience of both public and private settings, and practical expertise, as a real-time parent, inform my work to assist families with everything from general parenting needs to advocacy and overall developmental success.

My background and professional toolkit includes, but is not limited to, the following programs and trainings: Ross Greene’s Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS), The Zones of Regulation, The Responsive Classroom, Open Circle, Orton-Gillingham’s PAF, Fountas and Pinell, Reading and Writing Workshop Models, Scott Foresman’s Reading Street, The Writing Revolution, Singapore Math, Stern Math, Investigations Math, Classroom Language Dynamics, National Common Core Standards, etc..
